      • A big thanks to Dan (gravity tester) for helping me get airborne again. This is another reason why I love this hobby. Not just the planes, but the camaraderie makes it all worth it.

The fifth annual ThunderThrust Over Chatham Kent Airport will be held for four days from Thursday September 21'st to Sunday Sept 24'th 2017
So glad to hear the great news regarding Noah. He has been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. :-)

          Cheers

Thanks for the update. I gave this FMS A-10 to this A-10 pilot. The jet was available. He is an RC pilot too. I painted over all the decals and redid the graphics. Another A-10's pilot wife did the graphics.

You are more than welcome sir, but I don't deserve any credit. All I did was bash a perfectly good airplane and box up the pieces for you fine gents. LOL

Speaking of which, the big brown truck brought a present for me yesterday. Took a vertical fin straight to Home Depot to get a paint match. Thanks Motion!

Back to the bat cave, er, shop.

                    Cheers,
                    Dan

                    • For those of you using the Callie Graphics, does using the slightly soapy water do anything to the finish of the plane? Do you need to clean the soapy residue off? What is the best method for cleaning, if it is needed?

The key is not to use too much soap. No more than one drop per around 20 oz. water. A damp paper towel or cloth will clean up any residue. I prefer to use windex. Allows good work time and no residue. Just spray and spread with clean fingers for a uniform coat on the area you are aplying the graphics. Then gently press/pat/smooth the graphics out.

                        • Same. I like windex for the vinyl type graphics and yeah damp paper towel or cloth to clean up. As you lay the decal down in place, as tj said smooth it out from one side to another and push out any windex underneath. a paper towel is good to wipe up the excess.

                          • I wonder if this could be passed on to Freewing by one of the admins watching this thread. Would it be possible to get a modification to the strap system on some of the new production runs? I think it would really help if they could extend the plastic shelf for the front battery so they could either add a second strap or even move the single strap farther aft. I do have some 2" wide velcro on my packs that secure them, but these packs weigh quite a bit and I worry about them possible flopping around when doing some faster rolls or loops. As most of us are running 5000s or bigger, the cg requires we move the packs back farther and farther. This leaves the front straps just barely securing the front packs.

A very well deserving Hog for sure, Look at all those combat hashes. Great job to all that did work and one proud pilot to say the least.
